Sylvia Ziemann graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1983 with a diploma in painting, and in 1986 received her B.F.A. in painting from the Nova Scotia College of Design. While she is primarily a painter she has engaged in performance, installation art and is currently working with sculptural mediums. She is one of the initiators of the artist trading card chapter in Regina, Saskatchewan.
